We had such a full/weird/fun day today! Andlie dropped a 25 pound weight from my Dad's weight bench on her foot this morning around 8. It bruised & swelled up pretty quickly. She wouldn't put weight on it & was pretty upset. Bryan & my Dad gave her a blessing & then we left to take family pictures in St. George. When we got there, she still didn't want to walk on it & was still sad, but smiled like a champ for pictures.
Then we went to the Paul Family Reunion! (Bryan's Mom's side.) Andlie even walked on her foot at this point, but only because we told her she shouldn't swim with a hurt foot. She put on a fake smile & walked & said, "See it doesn't even hurt now." We swam & swam & swam. Hazey swam too. He loves water! Andlie also had her first pop from a can. Still smiled & was a happy girl (for the most part).
After we took more pictures with Bryan's family, Andlie was pretty sad & worn out. We decided to get an xray at InstaCare. Andlie kept saying, “The doctor is just gonna take a picture of my foot.” While we were waiting for the doc to come in, we finally got the story of what happened from Andlie. She told us, “First I was spinning and spinning Grampa’s weights and then it fell off on my foot and I slipped.” Doc told us it likely wasn’t broken, but that he would do an xray to be sure. Came in & said, “Craziness. She broke her foot.” Put a sling on her & told us to follow up with our doc next week. Andlie said, “Hey! It’s a boot! Just like Brycie’s!”
The next morning, I told Andlie she needed to eat breakfast. She said, “My foot hurts.” I told her she still needed to eat. She saw a bowl of candy & said, “Candy will help my foot feel better.” And later she told Mandy, “My foot hurts, but candy & presents will help it feel better.”
At least we got a few one-liners out of the broken foot. And yes, this is the same leg that was broken in September 2010.
